LOWER HUTT local Georgia Williams was one of a hundred people outside Wellington’s Intercontinental Hotel yesterday hoping to see a boy band who are the talk of the town.

UK music sensation One Direction concluded their Australasian tour on Sunday night with their show at St James Theatre, only to leave fans who did not attend the concert wanting their fix.

Georgia Williams (14) was one of many unable to get a ticket but was desperate to catch a glimpse of her heros.

She had been following the bands movements on Twitter, hoping to intercept them before they left the city.

“Anyone who got to go to the concert is hated by the rest of us,” Georgia said.

“I’ve been following them all on Twitter and I know they visited Parliament so I’m hoping to see them soon.”

Georgia got to the band’s hotel as early as she could and believes she saw the boys returning from a night out in the city.

“I came here at 6am when my dad went to work, and I even got permission to come back at lunchtime,” said the St Mary’s College student

The band has a reputation for loving a night out, and hospitality industry sources suggested they were no different on their stay in the capital.

“I think I saw them eating this morning, at first I thought they were having breakfast but then I realised they had just got in,” Georgia said.

Any movements within the hotel were met with huge anticipation from the desperate crowd, who performed their own rendition of the bands more popular songs.

Screams built as elevator doors opened and girls poured round the rear of the building looking to cover any exits.

“Every time a van pulls up we get excited, but I’ve got to get back to school or I’ll get a detention,” she said.

“I know all their songs and don’t just like them for their looks. They’re not coming to Wellington next year so this is my only chance to see them.”

“I think they are leaving tomorrow so I’ll be coming back straight after school.”

Band member Harry Styles tweeted his thanks this morning to his New Zealand fans on the band’s departure from the city, leaving Georgia and thousands of other fans wanting more.
